Local Government Pension Scheme

The Council offers a defined benefit pension scheme which you and the Council pay regular contributions.

Defined benefit means the pension you are paid is defined with certainty in advance and you will receive that level regardless of how well or how badly the pension scheme’s investments might perform.

The scheme includes ill health retirement, death in service benefits and a dependent’s pension to your spouse/civil partner/nominated co-habiting partner.
